Аннотация

Статья посвящена разбору пракритских надписей на колонне Гаруды в Беснагаре (древней Видише). Речь идет об идентификации царя Бхагабхадры, правителя династии Шунга, к которому был послан из Таксилы посол от царя Антиалкида. На основании сведений пуран можно установить хронологию правлений Бхагабхадры и Антиалкида. Исходя из внешнеполитической обстановки этого времени, в статье делаются предположения о возможных целях визита Гелиодора в Видишу. Надписи на колонне Гаруды – одно из первых свидетельств культа Кришны-Васудевы как Господа (Бхагавана). По мнению автора статьи, стихотворная надпись, помещенная на колонне, проливает свет на раннюю историю таких дидактических фрагментов «Махабхараты», как «Бхагавадгита» и «Санатсуджатапарва».
